Thread: Advice on material for scales

    Are there average measurements/ angles that the wedge should be? Or does it just need to be angled to spread the scales a bit?

    Usually the width of the wedge will determine how far the razor will sit in the scales. As for the angle it usually doesn't take much of an angle, just enough so the scales will flex when opening and closing. It will provide over all strength and stability to the scales.

    That's really good to know, I didn't realize the wedge impacts where the blade sits.

    A proper wedge impacts alot in any re-scale,Use a wedge, not a spacer like so many novices do.
