Thanked: 0My Heart Just Broke
Just as a little background, I was restoring my great grandfathers razor that my grandma gave me when my grandpa died. (http://straightrazorpalace.com/works...questions.html)
I had the final coat of polyurethane on the scales and was putting the final polish on the blade when this happened:
Its a tough pill to swallow, ruining my great granddad's razor, but I cant do anything about it now. Time to start browsing eBay and the classified for blades.
I am going to keep it and put it in its old, damaged scales to have as a memory and a keepsake at least.
Hope you all are having better afternoons!

I can't bring myself to hit the like button on this.

You could always make it a "shorty".

It would be a very short one, but I don't see why you couldn't shave with it. I'd be unusual, but you could give it a try.
I really like the original scales. Can't see the condition so well from the picture, but using them with another blade is an option.
You already mentioned putting the both back together as a keepsake. This one is a heartbreaker. Maybe you should find another project and come back to it later if you choose.
