Do's anyone sterilize Their toothbrush after each use??-----------------
A good 10min bath in barbicide. That's what the product was designed specifically for, it does not get any simpler than that.
92% alcohol = 8% water.
I was using straight isopropanol but that 92 percent stuff still evaporates much faster than water.
My observation is that %ge alcohol always leaves water behind on steel. No biggy if you wipe it off I guess.
For years my "sterilization" method has been as follows:
1. Upon initial acquisition and clean up spray the razor down several times with Scrubbing Bubbles (available for about $3 a can at any grocery store.)
2. After that repeat the process at around six month intervals or whenever you do a touch up hone.
3. Never Dull or other metal polish as required.
To date I have yet to contract tetanus or any other disease associated with blood borne pathogens.
Im looking at getting one of these
Steamed towels for face prep and after shave, plus can sterilise towels and razors. Not cheap per se, but a bit of luxury and functionality combined.
I guess I'm a purist!
Blades get a Barbicide soak after initial cleanup/restoration
Face prep includes a washcloth run under hot tap water
No problems to date. Haven't had a blade give me Ebola yet and the tap water gets too hot for my hands so it's sufficient to heat up whiskers.
