First Time Newbie here
OK, guys I really need you help/advice. I picked up two straights at the flea market the other day for $13. Now, I want to restore them but, I dont have the first clue on what to do. Both razors have some surface rust and some of that is by the scales. I got a Ryobi (just like the Dremel) but dont know where to begin. I think both razors need new scales but I dont know how to take the old ones off. So, again any help/advice or some direction would be great. I'm a big visual learner so if there is a dvd or something I can get that would be great. Thanks.

Good idea. A very good shortcut for re-finishing blades is using flap-wheels. They can get you up to a 400 grit satin finish, which is passable. Check out the Flap Wheels Part 2 thread that contains a quick and dirty unscripted video that Victor was kind enough to edit and post on how to use them (this will also give you the basics of using felt pads).

That video did help me out. Im off to widget supply to get the right flap wheel. I still need to figure out how to get the scales off to clean up the metal and get all that rust off. I cant wait to get started and use a razor that I fixed up myself.
