Thanked: 4827The only one piece I have ever shaved with is the Purist. I have to say I like the jimps and it handles well. Yours is a bigger blade by far but looks like a shaver.

I wish I had a definitive answer for you, but I do not. I usually use the TLAR method of engineering (that looks about right) . Usually if it looks right to you, it most likely is. Sorry for the wishy washy answer, the length varies on my one piece razors. The razor that I posted today has a OAL of 6.125.

Thanked: 480Rough-timates are good enough for me to work with. As I said this was originally for my hands, but now I am looking at it for somebody else and what was "TLAR" (I like that!) might not be any longer. This is where an actual ability to draw would come in handy, so I could sketch some variables.
I like the razor you posted today Charlie, but its blade is not as long as mine Do you vary the overall length depending on the blade size? Or does your length pretty much always fall under the auspicious of TLAR?

I just make things and experiment, a lot of the things I start never come to fruition. I toss a lot blades early in the process. I would like to say I have it all planned out, but I don't. TLAR really is my mantra.
