Evening. Working on my first razor project, JR Torrey, and I was wondering if this razor has bad hone wear. I seem to not have an eye for it, so I was curious to see before I put and more time in it. This is at 400 grit execpt the last picture, that's 800. Any tips for a begginner too?

    Yep I got one...

Make SURE you can get a nice even bevel on it before you put any more time into it.

Nothing is WORSE than sanding away to a perfect finish only to have to scratch it all up trying to get a edge on it.

Probably a good idea... I may take it to get honed before I go up to the next grit. Thanks for the heads up!

You DON'T want it honed... Just make sure it accepts a bevel.
Honing will disappear with more sanding.

Ask me how I know this...

Thanks for the information, I'm dropping it at Larrys(whipped dog) house so he can hone it and get it ready.
