Default A good cheap 4oz and maybe 8oz ball pean hammer source?

anyone have any wisdom on how to find a good affordable 4oz and maybe 8oz ball pean?
amazon as $4 to $$$$ ones all with mixed reviews. seems like some have a flat spot on the apex of the ball. sort of defeats the purpose!
some of the amazon shoppers grind the ball to a full round shape......but if i had a motorized grinder....i would probably have a 4oz ball pean already.

    thanks for your input

    A few links

Ball Peen Hammer, 4 oz. Head

    Sears.com

    SE 8324BH 4-Ounce Ball Peen Hammer - Ball Pein Hammer - Amazon.com

    Ball Peen Hammer, 4-oz. head

As you can see any will work, you have to polish the head to mirror before you can use it for peening razors.

I have the Sears one mainaman posted, seems well made to me. It's always nice to drive down and hold it in your hand, if you have a Sears nearby.

Sears it is ! Thanks folks!
Do you mirror polish the pean so the rod mushroom does not dull out?

No need to mirror polish as I polish the pins after peening, sand out course grind marks if any.
Far easier to by one but you can also roll your own, mine are 2 OZ. hammers.

My Sears peen needed a rounding and a polish but it is perfect for the job now.
Once I get into forging more I will make a custom. Not too sure it will have an ivory handle like pixels :<0)

Ones I havd bought fro Amazon.

2oz hammer for $5, already polished
Small Ballpein Hammer - Ball Peen Hammers - Amazon.com

    4oz hammer for 4$ needs a polish
Amazon.com: Vintaj Special Edition - 4 oz Ball Pein Hammer For Metal Smithing 2.5 Inch Head

I have used the 4oz one for awhile and works fine, just bought the 2oz to give it a try. They are marketed as jewelry tools.

Cheap hammers often are cast and shrink to the outer diameter when cooling and so have really crystallized centers. They may not take a polish.
Some hammers have a tit from the machining of the head and that must be removed to use them.

I have used the HF 2oz. ones with a polishing.

Lot of these going around also. a little bit short handle, nice for center punching with the magnifier. Mine have all polished well.
