Well, as is normal I got sidetracked with this old gal, but I finally finished it up tonight. I spent a good while removing chips and getting a nice clean bevel set then took the razor up to 12k, followed by a Thuri. Tonight will be the first shave and I truly wonder when the last time this razor touched someone's face to shave.

You gotta love vintage blades for that reason alone! How much history we each hold in our hands when we shave. Was this razor a prized heirloom? Did it serve a soldier in battle? How many kids watched it shave their father's face? There is just something completely magical about using an old blade that has an entire life outside of when you got your hands on it. In another hundred years where will this blade be? Hopefully in my great-grandson's bathroom bringing him the joy I'm sure it will bring me. Enjoy your blades fellas and thank you for passing on the tradition!

Post Shave Update: Well it was wonderful! I have always been a fan of heavy blades and heavy grinds. This razor fits both those categories and then some. It plowed through my whiskers noiselessly like a hair ninja. This may be my new favorite blade based on shave experience and history. It does feel a little strange stropping though with such a giant tang and scales to flip.

Razor rich, but money poor. I should have diversified into Eschers!
