Thread: Think these scales are salvagable?

So picked up a George Wostenholm & Son pipe razor the other day and must saw that the scale back side hinge was cracked. Went back and checked the listing picture and sure enough it was there... so bad on me. After unpinning it, I realized it had actually been repaired (somewhat poorly in my opinion) some time in the past. The question now is, do I try and sand it up a little and give it a neatsfoot oil bath or start crafting a new set?
