    Here is a prime example from my old horn pile. This scale was 'wedgeless' as in integral wedge like Matt's. Still, we see the collar would have covered both pins. Interesting stuff!

    In the ones you have seen, Neil, did any have a lead wedge? I can see how any rotation in a horn-to-horn wedge such as this could cause breakage or cosmetic issues. The extra pin would help to ensure all stayed proper before the blade was pinned in. If anyone broke them by rotating them, he would be relegated to washing spitoons! Or worse!

    That's right Tom, no lead wedge, just integral horn wedges.
