    Default Mason- Frederick Reynolds Restoration?

I purchased this razor at a local antique store. The razor was very inexpensive. I would like to restore it, this would be my first time. Any information on what I should do or about the razor would be appreciated (how to polish and keep the image on the blade, what kind of scales are out there, A rough appraisal of the razor now and after a nice restoration, etc.). It's this razor even worth a restoration or should I just hang it on the wall? Thanks

    Welcome to SRP
Definitely worth the clean up, try Maas, autosol etc polish only first to get the base condition, that etching should come up great and you don't want to loose it, personally I would send it to an experienced restorer to keep the etching, as it will be worth it JMO
Either way search the workshop forum for retaining or cleaning etchings etc.

That's a nice razor and should clean up well. Start reading http://straightrazorpalace.com/works...wers-here.html this sticky and you will be off to a good start.

The older I get the more I realize how little I actually know.

Thank you for the input. Now I have a long road of research ahead of me before I do anything to the razor( restore it myself, have it professionally restored, etc.). Thanks again
