    Default My first finished project!

Its taken me many hours (over many months) but I finally finished my first full 'restore'

I hand sanded 280g to 2000grit with inox, polished with blue magic and re pinned it all. I unfortunately cracked the scales when I was unpinning the razor, so they are glued back together with araldite. I kept the scales because they have the "kings expert barber" on them.

its not perfect but I learnt a heap from doing it.

Its a terrible shame you cracked the scales but many times they can be glued back w/o even noticing it. I made some bone scales for a Wade & Butcher once & decided the scales were to thick so I ended up breaking one unpinning it but I made a new one by gluing th broken one back together for a pattern & then I made them much thinner like a pair of ivory scales would be. I'm so glad I did it even though i broke a scale. the razor looks much better now!

yep, i think i am falling down into the rabbit hole pretty fast.

another three on the go now as well.

a pair of "elias batrus alltoona pa' (from what i could gather was that it was a store in altoona pa in the 1920's, im guessing that Elias Batrus was the owner/manager)

    and a JA henckels. http://straightrazorpalace.com/works...kels-frog.html
