    Since one side shrank I recomend replaceing the scales. IIRC slightly cell rotted scales some times warp. It may be that there was some inherent flaw in the now shrunken scale.

    If you really like these scales they may still be salvagable. It would be a bit difficalt for a first repare. Similar to the above tips but start with a lower temp, and you will need to build a fixture to go inside the scales and also stretch them at the same time.

    Its sad to hear for the scales, but the razor can be honned for sure...At least i would..It would be a good razor to practise honning. If you can fix the blade and hone this razor to shave ready you can hone anything
    Just work at it little at a time and the razor will be nice. You will lose some width but the razor will appreciate it You can also make some new scales and practice doing them also. Once you get this razor completed you will gain a lot of experience for future ones that might need your attention.
