Yes, I had noticed that he reuses pictures for his NOS razor listings when I bought The Ribbon razor from him since another one that was listed before the one I bought had the same pictures as mine and then another one was listed again after I bought mine that also had the same pictures(I like the Rosette so much that I was actually a little tempted to get that one too), as long as he checks that the razors are in decent condition before he ships them I don't have any issues with that practice and so far the razors have been in the same or in better condition than the listing pictures.
Let's hope you're right.Last edited by Baxxer; 10-12-2014 at 08:38 PM.

The scales are probably not celluloid, so their shouldn't be cell rot. Just sounds the greyness of starting rust.

Thanked: 2591I have never seen a Japanese straight with cell rot, and I have seen a ton of them. They did not use celluloid for the scales, so I doubt you have cell rot on the razor.

I echo the above post.
Never seen cell rot on any Japanese straight razor.
I would have said poor packaging after use.
Someone didn't fully dry it around the wedge on the inside...笑う門に福来たる。

I don't know anything about Japanese razors. If the scales are not celluloid obviously it is not cell rot. If they are celluloid the rot does not discriminate based on country of origin. Simple as that.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
