Wade & Butcher 5/8 - Can it be repaired?
I've got a Wade & Butcher 5/8 that I purchased from another member of the forum about 2-3 years ago. Recently, while stropping, I heard a clicking sound. Upon further inspection, i noticed a small crack in the blade at the heel end. It's probably about a centimeter long moving from blade edge to spine and about 2 centimeters from the heel of the blade itself. Can this be fixed, or is the blade now just junk? I'd love to enlist the help of one of the honemeisters on this forum if it's fixable.

Thanked: 68Unless someone has came up with something ingenious that I don't know about, the only way to fix a Crack is to get rid of it... which would mean grinding out part of the blade thus making it shorter, if it's close the the end, it might be able to be done without too much loss.
Pictures are worth a thousand words.
