Default Looking at making my own scales.

I have an old straight that has a chip near the upper pin. I want to remove the scales to not only replace the scales but to remove rust as well. My main problem is simply removing the pins. I want to remove the scales but I don't want to destroy them in the process.

That is a great place to start. There are several vendors for horn material.
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!
