I agree. You might scratch a few but you can re-make them or make more if you have enough lead.

Oh my greatness, in the time it took rezdog for that post, I have now hammered out three wedges from one sinker. So easy! Thank you so much!!!

I always glue one side. I have no idea why.
I think it had more to do with drilling the wedge. I can't remember why I started doing it but that makes complete sense too. I glue the rough wedge with CA on one side and assemble with screws check that it all fits well. Finish the wedge, remove the blade and final buff the outside of the scales and then pin and hopefully I just have to wax and polish, but have had to repair slipped file marks on occasion.
I learned to glue one side to keep the wedge from moving, especially with one pin. If two pins are used you can do it but it isn't as important.
