Help me decide
I have been trying to make some scales for a few razors, but I seem to have scale block and can't decide what to go with. Figured I would ask everybodys opinion. This one is a C-Mon HF. Was thinking of putting a nickel silver diamond inlay into the scales. First is with Curly Cocobolo, second yellowheart/padauk and third is Ebony. The Ebony gets really dark and the streaks turn to a really dark brown finished. I was thinking of using yellowheart/redheart with redheart diamond to match the lettering. Was also thinking of putting a redheart or something red diamond into the Ebony instead of nickel silver, but just can't figure it out. Don't have redheart at the moment so would have to order some. The lighting is pretty bad. Usually it isn't this hard to decide what to use, but this razor isn't making it easy for me. The scales are just roughed out because what ever sets I don't use will need to be fine tuned for another razor that will work with them.

I have other razors waiting for scales, but I am having a hard time deciding for this particular razor. The other blades waiting will look good with whatever sets I don't use. It is just this one that doesn't seem to want to work with me.

Thanked: 4828My choice would be the third set. I like the darkness of the ebony.

From the photos it it appears the tang is blued. Based on that observation , I will vote for the ebony.

Thanked: 1184Grab a quarter. Flip for each set. odd set out wins. I am betting on the 1st set.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Of the three i think the 1st set looks the best. The 2nd is too light, the 3rd is too dark the 1st is just right.

All three would work actually. But in terms of which would look the best, my preference would be the 2nd one. I have a feeling if it was presented as a poll it would be a close call since, it not being ours, it would be highly subjective (since there is no other kind of jective when you ask for an opinion.)

I'm not sure if you can add it now, but you could do a poll with three options: 1, 2, or 3. However, my opinion is the ebony with that blued hammered tang - think that would look real sharp. Also, if you could hammer the inlay to match and blue it, all the better. Cheers!
