    Default marble scales/ wedges?

    Gentlemen,
Hello, how are you all today? Feel free to call me an idiot for even suggesting this, but has anyone made or seen scales made from marble? I think this might look really good, just not sure how the peening would go, and I'd have to make sure to never drop it.. I think I've seen stones used as wedges before, but never as a whole scale. So whaddaya say?

I don't think it would work. A razor shank is tapered. Hence, every time you open and close it, the scales flex. Marble doesn't. Even if it didn't break the first time, I doubt it would last more than 10 openings and closings, at the very best.

The scales would be too heavy. Even if you could cut it thin enough and the scales didn't crack during the shaping process, they would crack during pinning.

Yeah, I don't think they would work for scales, but as a wedge I'm sure there's some options.
