Thanked: 2591I'd make the front about .5 times wider while keeping the tail end the same width.
In general it may be a good idea to cut the scales out of cardboard and fit the razor to them to get a feel what it will look like in the real ones.Stefan

A couple of pointers from me:
- At the toe, measure just where the razor will sit - at the moment if looks a bit high. If you drop it down you will need to change the shape of the scales towards the toe so as to ensure the edge is fully contained.
- At the pivot, rotate the blade 180 degrees and make sure that the tail is covered by the scales - this is what you will be holding when stropping so it's important to get a comfortable grip.
The overall shape still looks a bit too curved at the moment - by flattening you should be able to get a more comfortable grip.
Edit - for a liner you could use a wood veneer rather than acrylic - its much easier to work with and not so bulky. With that colour scales it will be tricky getting a match but maybe a contrasting light colour would be good. If you go this route try and find one with a good linear grain for added strength.Last edited by UKRob; 12-22-2014 at 10:30 AM.
