Thanked: 4827A little hone wear on the toe but other than that it looks just fine. I do like shoulder less blades and Challenge made good razors, so it is likely a keeper.

Thanked: 884Nice early Challenge. The company changed the name to Challenge Cutlery in 1899. That puts your razor in the 1889-1899 age bracket.
They made excellent razors and knives.

Thanked: 11Nope, no lanyard pulling. Spent 6 months haggling with a pawn shop to get him down from 80.00, but in the end it wasn't making him money sitting on the shelf.

Still you got a winner and haggling is half the fun of looking for a razor. Took four years and more to get one I wanted. The guy died and I got it at a fair price from the widow!
The scales suggest about 1910 onward for the fancy types. Torrey was the main seller of them as extra cost options.
