    Default 3m Sandpaper Source

    Gents,

I have two shorties incoming from Larry A at Whipped Dog that I am about to start my restoration career on.

I have read lots of threads, and pretty much know what I need that I dont already have.

Problem is... sandpaper. My usual sources, the big box stores, a couple of local guys, and Amazon... dont have all of the grits needed!

So where are you guys getting all of those different grits of 3M W/D paper?

Right now, I have 320grit for lapping my stones, but need the other dozen or so grits.

    Thanks!

I don' know about Maryland but here in Walla Walla Washington USA, every lumberyard carries 3M Wet-n-Dry in:

    220
    320
    440
    600

I find other higher girts and some the lower ones at my Local NAPA Auto Parts Store.

My friend in India has access to these in a different brand.

    I do hope this helps

Small hardware stores like ACE have lots of different grits. Osh has a good selection. I got my hard to find grits at the local industrial hardware. The guy will get me anything within a day if I order by 9.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Autobody supply stores are great sources for sandpaper. That is where I buy my sheet abrasives from.

+ 1 on Ace Hardware. I was very surprised in what they carried.
