Pinning alternative
I want to have a go at restoring a few old razors but I want to use different pins rather than the traditional. Can anyone help me with where I can buy these types of fasteners in the UK? I'm struggling to find them.

Thanked: 44I do not know where to find them, but I could never find one with a small enough diameter.

That type of fastener set is commonly called a binding post. Good luck in finding them small enough. You would have to find something under 2-56 thread for the barrel to be small enough diameter...and forget the fancy torx head!

I'm in the UK and had to buy some from a US knife supplier - pivot barrels are what to look for. Bear in mind you will also have to enlarge the pivot hole - in a razor that has been tempered that's easier said than done.
My service is good, fast and cheap. Select any two and discount the third.
