Buffalo Horn Scales
I ordered some very nice black and honey buffalo horn and through my own stupidity I bought them too short.
So I combined them in a way that provided the length needed.The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. (Edmund Burke)

Yes, that is the type of joint, though the overlap is quite shallow with very close fitted angles to allow for more surface area for gluing.
