    Why flatten it?
So long as it protects the edge when closed & you can handle it while shaving,,,,, let it be different,,,

Nice job on the antler. I voted black/white streaked buffalo. I just like that look, though honey horn is awfully pretty too.

Any of them would look great gooser ! If you have yet to work with one of the materials ,that would be the one to choose. On a side note, I made a set using the white streaked buff horn and found that the white streaking was much softer than the surrounding horn and they did not like the coarser sandpaper , and also the white streaking didn't take the same sheen when polished . Or maybe I just had a bad batch of slabs.

ive done nothing with horn yet , only wood , micarta , and g-10 , i saw some honey with some nice streaking in it that i think im gonna try to obtain although i have laid out 2 sets on the black/white streak slab ... i think im gonna cut out a few sets of ruff basic designs on both the streaked horn and the honey ox then shape them per razor , i have 6-8 razors that i plan on re-scales with 2 of them going in black canvas micarta ...
thanks for the opinions so far and poll answers !!

on a side note i did notice a diff feel between the black & white on those slabs i have ..

hey just make a poll !!! ..lol..im kinda leading to that honey ox ..

on a side note I see there seems to be a line in that white streaking that looks almost like a cut about 1/32 deep .. im gonna sand past it (I hope ) but I have 2 sets cut out of the black/white and ready to shape and sand down
