Default Need a straight razor repair man

I've been absent from the forum for some time and I'm hoping that there are still some guys around who will do some repair work on str8s, for a fee of course.

I ran across one of my dad's old straight razors a while back and discovered rust in the cutting edge. Following the technique described in some earlier threads, I breadknifed the blade on a coarse DMT sharpener just enough to get past the rust, which, fortunately, wasn't a lot. That seemed to go OK but getting a cutting edge back on the razor seems to be another matter.

I'd like to find someone who will take a shot at putting a good shaving edge back on this thing. If you're interested, or have a recommendation, please contact me by PM. Thank you.

I have had gssixgun work on several razors for me, and they have all come out excellent. I highly recommend Glen.

Since you breadknifed the edge, I would post some pics to see if the razor is even salvageable.

    Results.

Just got my dad's Bengall Blue Steel str8t back from gssixgun. After I had breadknifed some rust out of the edge, I sent it to Glen who put a new bevel and finished edge on it in addition to repinning it. He did a beautiful job and the guy believes in customer service. Thanks, Glen.

+1 on gssixgun! He has worked on several of my razors, set bevels I couldn't and replace the frame back on one and has done a wonderful job on each razor I've sent him. The man is a razor guru!
