Thread: Next Project, want to keep satin finish

So my next project is fixing up this C. W. Dahlgren frameback. It's a 6/8 tapering down at the heel. It has a "reverse" etching on the blade I want to preserve.

I saw a post by gssixgun to use 400 grit wet/dry with wd40 to keep the satin edge. Any other suggestions to clean it up but keep the satin finish.

Really like this razor and want to do it right.

How deep is the etching? It can happen that you won't be able to save it if you start to sand away.
