    Default G11...?

Hey guys, there is an internet auction for a lot composed of 160 blocks of what they call G11. The size is 2"x2"x4.35" so they are to short for razors but might be just fine for knives. My question is ...what is the difference between G10 and G11?
Here is a pic of the lot....

My quick google search revealed that G11 is high temperature resistant G10 not so much.

Looks sort of like insulator blocks for big electric connections.

G10 has a max temperature of around 280 F, G11 has a max temperature around 350 F. G11 maybe 1% stronger than G10. Most of the G11 I have seen had more green color to it than G10.

And those blocks in the picture are for cell tower antenna standoffs. (Another useless piece of knowledge out of my head...)

Yep, it is just like G10, just a bit more heat resistant. This is the un-colored version, it looks like jade-ghost G10 after sanding.

They only way to cut the G-10 series is with a metal cutting...very slow speed band saw. Watch the teeth move and count seconds for the blade weld to come around again. The stuff is cut by breaking the glass fibers and removing the resin to break the next fiber. Some guys and one shop I worked in use grit bandsaw blades. The edge of the material, though, is somewhat burned and has to be cleaned to get to solid material.
Respirator required ! and a day for the stuff to settle out of the after cleaning all the equipment before
spending any time there without one.
I spent years in electronic prototyping and my lungs are paying the price. If you want to breath easily till you die, it and some Micartas are death, only showing up over a long period of time from their use.
