Thanked: 480Advice on Pin tightening/replacement for MOP scales
Just received a nice razor dressed in carved MOP scales. Original pins are very slender, and is very loose at the pivot.
I have a terrible fear that if I simply choose to tighten the pin, it may expand in diameter instead of the top mushrooming, and as we all know, that will blow out the MOP.
I know some of you guys have done a lot of these. Whats your take? Best to replace the pin? or do you try to tighten them up?
And what special tools/precautions do you take to keep the hammer and anvil safely away from the scales (pins appear flush with the MOP in all other areas)
