    Default Looking for some advice

Got this with a group of razors and just wanted to see if anyone could tell me if i can still make this razor shave worthy again. it has had a lot of the blade removed, i am guessing due to a chipped blade but i don't know, and i was just worried that the blade geometry might be way off now. any advice would be appreciated.

It is an old puma, so it should have good steel. I believe you are correct that it has been altered in a big way, and the geometry is different from what it was. It looks like it was a 6/8 razor that's been cut down. I am guessing its current geometry is very similar to an old wedge razor, and I am sure you could make it into a useable shaver. If you have any interest in restoring razors it would probably make a good candidate for a learning experience. If it would be a razor that would go proudly into your rotation, and one you'd want to hang on to - well, only you can tell.

I have done a few restorations but none like this yet. It looks like it is stamped 5/8 and it is all original so I will probably try to make it work. Mostly just trying to make sure it is doable and nit waste my time. Worst case I have a nice desk piece I suppose.

It is 5/8. Looks like it is now 4/8. I think it is still possible to get it ready to shave. When I started with straights in my younger years I had a Puma that I used for years. Think it was under 4/8 when I got rid of it. I When new it was 5/8 or larger. Not sure as I got it in a garage sale.
