    Default Where to start?

Greetings everyone...I just picked up some old str8 razors and I would like to revive them to life.

I know there is a lot of material here but, I was wondering if someone can help me with a starting point?

A synopsis of the routine would be a great help.

    Any info is appreciated.

    Thanks again.

    ~Jason

p.s. This is becoming an addicting hobby!

    Hey Jason,

It depends on lots of factors....

    What condition are they in?

If they're in good condition then you may just need some Maas polishing cream to buff out some marks.

If there is rusting or pitting you may need to attack them with sandpaper.

If the scales (handles) are shot then you might look at buying some replacements or making your own.

Or you could send it to someone here and for a price they could do it for you

You also might want to post some pictures of the razors for others to get an idea of what might need to be done.

    Cheers,
    David.

My bigest single tip? (learnt the HARD WAY)

Start with the finest grit paper or polish you can get away with...

Nothing worse than spending 5 needless hours sanding out scratch marks from too coarse a grade of paper...
