Thanked: 4827Nice work. I have not done a transfer of bolsters or inlay. I do intend to take a Friodur and log form an old set of scales and attach it to some nice bone scales some day.

Beautiful job and good save on that one! You did the only thing you could for cell rot.....replaced the scales. I've had to do a few scale replacements in order to save the razors from cell rot.
A few years ago my brother-in-law said he had his grandfather's str8 razor put away for safe keeping. I told him I would like to see it and told him if it need some work I would take care of it for him. When he finally dug it out there was very little left of it; cell rot had eaten away around 80% of the blade and there was very little left of the scales.
