dubl duck goldedge
on the goldedge, arn't the ducks and maker's mark blue?, is there a way to make them blue again simler to Geezer's etching reviel http://straightrazorpalace.com/works...-etchings.html ? or is the only way to do it is a steady hand and blue paint?, and does anyone know what te correct shade of blue is? all I can tell is that it is a zark blue, Does anyone else know more than "dark blue" or have a good pic of what it should look like to compare against when picking out the correct shade?Last edited by whoever; 04-23-2015 at 12:15 AM.

Is that the color of the scales, or just the lighting?

Ironic... I am working on a Goldedge, and was painting the tang gold tonight! (decided not to try the re-plate)
Also have some blue paint ready to go. (Americana Multi-Surface Satin in Cobalt Blue)
The one issue I seem to be having is that despite me cleaning the tang off before painting, I have one spot that the paint just donsnt want to stick to unless I lay it on thick. This is going to mean some sanding... and that may mean more coats of paint, and I think the lighter the better here.
But once I have the paint smoothed out with a little high grit, I think it's going to look really nice.Last edited by Aldwyn; 04-25-2015 at 02:27 AM.

Unfortunately I do believe the paint will not hold up on the tang. Plating has a hard time. Paint I am afraid is not an option for durability.

You are likely right, Chev.
For me, it's more of an experiment then anything else.Recovered Razor Addict
