    Default Dorko 444 blank build

Evening gents. Searched for the 444 and found interesting threads on hardness and history of them and now I own one.
Here it is beside an older Dorko I picked up antiquing last week for comparison.

Blank is quite thick as you can see, with an O stamped up at the spine on the backside, mid blade..
Anyone with experience on this unique item, or suggestions as to plan of attack welcomed.
A faux frameback Dorko will be pretty neat, if I can do it right.
    Cheers, and thanks.

Mike IIRC there has being a thread or 2 on here (or possible the other site b.b?) about the Dorko Blank blades someone had gotten a few and finished them off

Oh yes, many pics once I get a plan together.
I've got an ebay search set for Dorko hoping to find some reasonable scales from a fallen blade. Think those are a must for this to really pull it together. The ones I have seen, presumably finished by Dorko have jimps on both sides of the tang. May try to reproduce this effect somehow.
    Cheers.

There were many available at one point. I remember seeing auction after auction of multiples. I was always very curious. Still am in fact. I have so many half finished or just started or waiting to start projects that I am just going to watch this one and not even think about following you down that rabbit hole.

And the pile ebbs and flows, like the tide bro..

Makes me want to build a twin wheel counter-rotating grinder now somehow, just cause I don't have enough to play with....

Mike, I use thin diamond cut off wheels for tight jimping then triangle Jewelers files to widen them out.

I'm working on a razor grinder too.... May go up to the Portland razor company and see what there is to learn.
