Thanked: 4200Dorko 444 blank build
Evening gents. Searched for the 444 and found interesting threads on hardness and history of them and now I own one.
Here it is beside an older Dorko I picked up antiquing last week for comparison.
Blank is quite thick as you can see, with an O stamped up at the spine on the backside, mid blade..
Anyone with experience on this unique item, or suggestions as to plan of attack welcomed.
A faux frameback Dorko will be pretty neat, if I can do it right.
Cheers, and thanks.

Thanked: 4200Oh yes, many pics once I get a plan together.
I've got an ebay search set for Dorko hoping to find some reasonable scales from a fallen blade. Think those are a must for this to really pull it together. The ones I have seen, presumably finished by Dorko have jimps on both sides of the tang. May try to reproduce this effect somehow.

Thanked: 4821There were many available at one point. I remember seeing auction after auction of multiples. I was always very curious. Still am in fact. I have so many half finished or just started or waiting to start projects that I am just going to watch this one and not even think about following you down that rabbit hole.

Thanked: 4200lol, rabbit hole indeed Shaun..
And the pile ebbs and flows, like the tide bro..
Makes me want to build a twin wheel counter-rotating grinder now somehow, just cause I don't have enough to play with...."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."
