Thanked: 4829I have bought some crap from bad pictures but more often I have gotten some nice blades. I do it more for the thrill than anything else. Hope it is a lotto win for you.
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

Me too. My wife says i'm crazy for buying these old razors and doing the work I do on them then letting them go as I do. the think is I enjoy cleaning and making scales and seeing what it turns out to be. I really don't look to make money just have fun. you take a dark looking blade and dryed out scales and make it shinny and usable again. ya that's fun.

Lol Same here! My lady is very supportive of my obsession... but sometimes she gets this look in her eyes that says I'm a little crazy but she loves me anyway.
I showed her a picture of this 8/8 Fredericks with a beautiful exaggerated curve to the spine and tang and she used the term "razor porn" to describe it! Lol it was great.
I don't want to make money at it, its all about the chase, and the designing, creating and restoring. The process.
Well, also I do like to go through them and appreciate having them, choosing which to shave with, these badass gadgets that serve a purpose, my man-gear.
I wonder if this is how Batman feels in the bat-cave those late nights tinkering with the tools of his trade..

@Mike I like that you compare us restorers to Batman.
It's definitely about the process and improvement over the money. The excuse "it'll save me money on razor blades" simply doesn't fly in my house anymore...
