    Default My Wapenica razor

Just finished these Myrtle scales for my wapenica razor. Came up OK with a brass liner and some black spacer material from Chris aka C_uts (thanks).

I just bought a new camera to be able to post better photos.... That hasn't seemed to have helped. Perhaps I'm just a crap photographer...

Bluer backgrounds provide better white balancing. Also, avoid flash. Other than that, good work on the razor, and you can always send stuff to me for photographing .

    good job!

I cut the wood roughly then just glued the brass sheeting onto that and then the spacer material onto that once it had dried. Once they both dried I sanded it all back and shaped the scales.

Check out this post by C_utz, it's a great how-to step by step

Looks good! Thin too!! Tell us more about the scales... Is that one piece or glued together at the end? What do you think about the black liner material? What did you coat the wood with (if you did)?

Did you use a light box to take the photo's? I hear this helps (I'm still just using my scanner, but hope to get to the 'light box' point at some time):

    Great work!

(You know...I never did finish restoring that W&B 'Special' blade....Hm. The scales did come out nice though.)
