Thanked: 0Shipping Restoration
I hope I am posting in the right place for this one. I finished up a couple of mid 1900's German made blades and want to send one to my friend. I know that there are many thing I could use for the shipping, but I would like to use a plastic box like they use on the basic Dovo razors. I had seen them once online, but I can't seem to find them again. Any one know where to look?

After shipping stuff for years, the USPS flat rate box with insurance is the best way to go.
I use the cheapo tooth brush tubes from the dollar store to hold the blade wrapped in paper towel or similar material but so it can be easily removed. Pack that in the box with a bunch of plastic bags from the stores for padding and non-rattle.
There are other methods but this is the one that has worked for me, doesn't put pressure on the scales, and is rather cheap.

Thanked: 0Thanks, I actually got a couple of those on sale at WalMart. It works. I would just really like the actual box. I was going to attempt making some, but my molding materials dried out. This is what I will probably end up doing if I cannot find the boxes.

Thanked: 0I had not thought of that (a paper one). That is pretty cool. I have found that they are called coffins. So searching has resulted in a few places to get them for around $5. Although, I think I am going to make one of those paper ones for at least home storage since don't know how well it would survive shipping. Although, I maybe able to fiberglass wrap it or something.
