Thanked: 4828Well if you look around on Ebay for more or less dead Crown razors you will seek how plentiful the scales are. Unless they are embossed scales tend to be a little on the generic side and it is likely that you can find a similar set. Pinning razors is a little tricky to begin with. If the original scales are very important to you the perhaps starting with a different set might be a good plan. There is a ton of information on pinning in the workshop forum. The one little bit of information from them that I missed was a very simple piece of advice. The more polished your hammer is the shinier your peen will be. You could in theory just by some crappy old razor to practice your pinning on.

Very true. I wish that when I jumped in, that I would have bought some broken rusty blades to practice on, and read as much as I could in the Workshop before ruining scales that were too nice for my skill level at the time. That said Ive had good luck finding new scales for good blades on the Bay.
