Thanked: 0Source For Wood Scale Blanks
Hi, had been using Handletheze.Com but it looks like they are gone. I am looking for both raw and stabilized along with horn and synthetic, but right now a new source for wood would be great.
Thanks for any help here, Patrick.

Thanked: 315I bought a nice horn blank from Maggard Razors.
WoodCraft and Rockler have 1/8" wood blanks.
USAKnifeMaker has Shokwood and other materials.
Jantz Supply has a little stabilized wood and other materials.
Of course Ebay has some dealers that sell stabilized wood.

I've bought wood from cookwoods.com and also from the Bay. The most important thing IMHO is to make sure it's been properly cured, as there are companies that will sell wood before its ready. So buy from a seller who is honest enough. Some woods take a lot longer to cure than you want to wait to make your scales..
I like to buy blocks of wood that I can cut down to make more scales in the future, build somewhat of a stock and I put it in a container with the right humidity to preserve it...
Gives me options at hand for my imagination to work.“You must unlearn what you have learned.”
