Wood cases for hones
The Danish summer, means rain and stormy whether. So I spend a lot of time in the workshop in the holidays.
I've decided to make some cases, or coffins for some of my hones. I have a lot of rare and expensive hones and they need a better protection. It also looks good.
I'm cleaning out the old workshop together with my farther, so we did them together with exotic woods.
This is the result for you inspiration.
Mahogany case for the Vosgienne hone.
Bog oak case for my vintage Le Dresante au Blue coticule
And Rosewood case for my La Verte coticule.
Each case took about 1 - 1 1/2 hour to make. Then they needed lacquer and a day to dry. I forgot to take pictures of the process but I'll do that next time. I still have about 10 to go 😉

Yes that the best solution, but I've lacquered the wood, so it can withstand water :-)

Nicely done, I like them! I have Ardennes boxes for some of my coticules but like yours much better. (That's a nice looking coti too.)
