I'm now having issues with my computer. :aargh: When it rains, it pours! I was on the phone with Apple the other night for 5 hours! I saw I made a mistake on my previous post & there was no edit tab so I had to "repair disc" under System Utility's.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOM!!!!:mexwave:
I have been trying to find the page lately to find peoples birthdays. I had seen it before & I thought it was on the main page.
I usually use my Macbook & I remembered seeing it at the bottom of a page but I had a brainfart I guess & totally forgot the bottom of the forum page! I had seen it before, then when I tried to find it, I couldn't. I very rarely get on the forum on my phone. I have to use Tapatalk & it is a lot different.
Honing a new bevel on this Butchered Wade. Narrow at the heel, wide at the toe. I figured as much. After beating it on a DMT and a slurried Norton, I have it popping hairs all the length. On to my Naniwa 1k for a bit. The hard work is done! :y
Pardon me gents for intruding, but this seems the best place to recognize one of the masters: Tom
Happy Birthday! Hope you aren't here for it tonight.
Bill, he is indeed a Master. We should figure a way to make a date of apprenticeship like they had when those became Master Cutlers back in the day.
Who knows............maybe some can be determined from their join date. Can't go by management because there are many who don't have that title but have the talent to do many great things & ideas with a straight razor. Okay, done here. Now for the mail.
Mike, aka outback. The anvil just arrived & it is awesome buddy! I was looking at my other piece & they are different. My other piece of railroad track is 4 1/2" tall & the piece outback sent me is 6" tall. The surface where the wheels ride are 2 3/4" on the piece outback sent me & 5/8" thick on the part that is between the base & surface which I guess we can call the spine. On my other one the surface is 2 3/8" & the spine I guess you would call it is 1/2" thick. I'm thinking they don't use that type track anymore like my first one I have which was probably cut from a vintage piece of railroad track used back on the old steam locomotives!
Thank you very much Mike. I will get you back on it.

My Babur's pins & collars came in also & he sent me a piece of what the tag says is genuine new silver! I don't know if he does that with every order or if it is because I was asking about the solver pins. He's a great guy to deal with & I'll leave him an excellent feedback.

Now I have more coming which will be the Cateye ones included both brass & silver. They are just like the ones these guys sell a dozen for $30!
