Put the washer on a piece of wood, end grain, put the ball bearing on the washer and hit the ball bearing.

Just like the doming block…but, different…

Sounds like a recipe for black fingernails to me.
My service is good, fast and cheap. Select any two and discount the third.

Could buy a cheap punch from the hardware and dome the end. No need to get your hands close then

You could file the end of nail (or bolt, or any length of round metal) round and use that as a punch. Ten minutes of filing and block of wood and you are in bluishness.

    Or needle nose pliers.

Repairing these things and not wanting to buy proper tools, you have to be able to think outside of the box.

If you’re worried about hitting a finger, this may not be the hobby for you; we are talking about Straight Razors, after all….
