Default Favour for a Barber - Rescaling

    Gentlemen,
I just returned from a business trip to Vegas. While there I treated myself to a straight shave at the Art of Shaving, where I met the barber Elliot. What a wonderful shave. We also talked at great length about routine and he gave me some good tips. We talked about razors and he shaves customers with this:

Monsieur Charles Razor, it takes disposable blades. He loves the weight but hates the scales as they fall apart. One thing led to another and I told him that re-scaling was not a big issue. I said that I could find some information on getting his razors re-scaled.

So... I turn to the members to ask if someone is willing to rescale a couple razors for Elliot the barber at Art of Shaving. We didn't discuss anything about costs. At this point I just told him I'd get him some info and maybe some contacts.

If is anyone interested in taking on this task?
If so respond or PM me.
    Thanks in advance.

    Ask Joe C. or ToxIk.

Joe made me some great scales out of linen micarta (synthetic material) that are beautifully shaped and finished.

The price was about $35 - $40 (can't remember exactly).

Given the cost of scales, its likely cheapest to just replace the razor.

The barber might also want to try some of the Sanguine disposable blade straights that are being sold on e-bay. There have been a couple of preliminary reviews over at B&B that were quite good and there's a special on at the company's e-store and you can get them for as little as $5. They also sell a stainless handled one for about $10. One of the reviewers is a barber and he said good things about these razors.

I'd recommend Jason. He's our fellow Torontonian and his work is just amazing. The best scales I ever had in my hands.

I have contacted Jason, but alas he doesn't have time in his schedule to fit it in.

There is also garythepenman. I don't know if he has the time for doing it, but he does great work and I seem to remember that he offered rescaling services in the past.
