Joe, I have a bunch of questions about this if you'll humor me.

  1. The initial sharpening you do, is this against the wheel or using something else? I am trying to visualize this, but can't get it to make sense in my simple brain. Does this mean you pull the spine out on the platen of the grinder so that just the edge is against the wheel, with no wedge face touching?
  2. When you get into the grinding, do you use cutting fluid and a circulator pump, just occasional wetting or are you dry grinding?
  3. Is this on the counter-rotating wheel grinder that Bill Ellis shows in a photo on his CD, or simply a single wheel grinder like you would find at Sears?
  4. Do you cut into, or away from the blade edge with the wheel?
  5. Are the cork belts you mention similar to the ones found here?
I have a bunch of wedges that I'd like to regrind, so any guidance would be great.

thx - John
