I did a giveaway a while back of a shortie. Guy said it shaved great, but as he pulled it out of the pile, all the others followed! Yes, a magnetic jig was involved!
That was before I got 'demagnetized'!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

I have a demagnetizer for watches which will work for straights as well.

Like Tom says, "Learning every day"
Steve, I had to look up what exactly demagnetizing a watch meant, beyond the literal meaning. Pretty easy to grasp. In the process of reading about it, I read that there are some watches that are resistant to magnetic forces like this:
Do you think it would look gaudy on me? I don't see it that way really. So I'm thinking right after I scrape up enough coin to get a 3-pac of underwear I might acquire one
I understand how a fella would, given an appropriate amount of discretionary income, collect watches. They can truly be things of wonder. I'll bet there are even forums devoted to the minutiae of horology where those characters go on and on.....and on."Call me Ishmael"

Indeed, but Ni by itself ferromagnetic, which is funny- get a piece of pure Ni...problem solved. Ni amidst Cr and Fe though- you have a bunch of different electron spin configurations that are not in sync. They are different sizes and therefore it's the distance from atom to atom that puts their orbitals out of sync. The electron spin must be in sync for magnetism to work. so I ask: did you try unplugging the razor and then plugging it back in again?
