Thread: My first set of custom scales

So I ordered a couple of razors from WhippedDog as I fancied learning to shave and i've always enjoyed creating and restoring items.

These are the razors I got in the post. The black one had cracked scales and the cream one was badly warped so I started off on the cream set first.



I had some american black walnut laying around so i decided to use that. I got the basic shape cut out and starts sanding it to the final shape I wanted.

I wanted a gloss finish but didn't fancy using my epoxy so i gave to CA glue method a go. After a few passes and it already started to look great.



And heres the finished product. I just need to start learning on how to restore the blades when i have some spare time.
