    Default Neatsfoot Oil Smell Neautralization?

    Hi All,
I'm going to give a couple of razors a long soak, but last time I did it I couldn't get passed the smell so after a few days I had to madly wash them with soap which pretty much took the oil out, lol. Is there any way to reduce the smell? Or did I do something wrong?
I love the smell of shaving cream in the morning!

I have a couple bottles and neither smells that bad, just put a Wostenholm in oil, this morning.

It does have a bit of odor, but goes away once dried off.

Perhaps yours has gone rancid. My local Ace Hardware carries it and it’s not expensive, about $5 a bottle.

Try to heat the oil to 150°C for a couple minutes, skim the surfaces buildup and let it rest for a week with a couple spoons of activared charcoal on it, shaking vigorously some times a day. Filter it after this treatment, you will kill most of the scent after this treatment.
