Keep it coated with an oil until its going to be used. I keep mine coated with mineral oil, & wrapped in a handkerchief until they are used,, then stropped ,, re-coated in mineral oil, wrapped & loaded back into the rotation.

Thanked: 4826I oil my pivots and wax my blades. If I am storing or shipping them I wrap them in anti corrosion paper.

I go dull after emails also so don't feel like the Lone Stranger.
I think this may point to a difference between a 'light' shine and a 'deep' shine, which is being addressed in some other threads.
I dry my blades, then use a lens blower to dry the pivot area, coat lightly with Ballistol and gently wipe most of the Ballistol off. Then store the razor open for a day or so. Still, if I am photographing the razor, I find that a wee bit of Simichrome is often needed."Call me Ishmael"

How does your blade go dull after email?
Sorry if I'm being dopey but I don't get it.
If/when my blades go a bit dull or stain from hard water I use a bit of metal polish by hand, then oil , wipe off excess ,bingo ,bango, bongo

I suspect auto-correct is playing a part in this confusion.
My service is good, fast and cheap. Select any two and discount the third.
