Thanks Max. The blade that came with my Craftsman 10" is a 6 TPI so I thought it was too rough for Micarta, G-10, etc.
My son is a Drill Instructor in the United States Marine Corps at Parris Island, SC

I went and ordered a 1/4" 14 TPI blade as well as I think it will be the workhorse for scales.

What's most important if you want to cut G10 is to make sure it's at least a bi-metal blade. I noticed the Timberwolf you linked to but that blade will dull after one cut through G10. If lucky you'll be able to cut a set before it's dull. It'll do fine on most other materials although the wider the better..

Thanks Max. It looks like Timberwolf doesn't sell a bi-metal blade so I guess I will need another if I ever want to cut G-10. Will the ones I bought be OK with Micarta?

Thanks Max. Timber Wolf's site says the 14 TPI blades are for metal as well so I am not sure how well they will hold up.

The ¼” x 14 tpi blades are used for cutting up to ¼” plywood, MDF and other composites and up to ¼” soft metal and plastic. By soft metal they mean non-ferrous metals (brass, nickel, aluminium, lead,...). Just don't use it for G10 or you'll be ordering again
